ATHENS, Ohio - Senior Lauren Kohn has been named one of 52 regional finalists for the 2008 State Farm Coaches' All-America Basketball Team, which was released by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), in cooperation with State Farm.

The State Farm Coaches' All-America Team selection committee will review the 52 finalists and cut the list to 40 today. The 40 finalists will all be in the running for selection to the 10-member State Farm Coaches' All-America Team, which will be announced at the State Farm Coaches' All-America Team Press Conference at the Tampa Hyatt Regency on April 5, at 9:45 a.m. in Tampa, Fla.

Joining Kohn on the Region IV team are Kate Achter of Bowling Green, Tiera DeLaHoussaye of Western Michigan, Ashley Hayes of Murray State, Amanda Jackson of Miami, Natasha Lacy of Texas-El Paso and Diamond Rogers of UAB.

Kohn has proven to be a leader for the Bobcats on the off the court. She was selected first-team All-MAC and is the first Ohio women's basketball player since Caroline Mast (1982-86) to earn CoSIDA Academic All-America honors. She was also named to the ESPN The Magazine District IV Academic First Team. Kohn led the Bobcats in scoring all season long and spent majority of the season nationally ranked in scoring and free throw percentage.
