ATHENS, Ohio - Ohio women's basketball player Lauren Kohn added another accolade to her resume today as the Mid-American Conference named her one of eight players on the 2007-08 MAC Women's Basketball Academic All-MAC Team.

It is Kohn's second straight year on the team and her third academic award for the season. In addition, she was named first-team All-MAC and was a MAC preseason favorite. Kohn has a 3.82 grade point average, and is a communications and public advocacy major.

Kohn was named one of 52 regional finalists for the 2008 State Farm Coaches' All-America Basketball Team, and is the first Ohio women's basketball player since Carline Mast (1982-86) to earn CoSIDA Academic All-America honors. She was also named to the ESPN The Magazine District IV Academic First Team.

Joining Kohn on the Academic All-MAC Team are Tiera DeLaHoussaye from Western Michigan, Julie DeMuth from Ball State, Laura Markwood and Jenna Schone from Miami, Whitney Taylor from Bowling Green, Shari Welton from Northern Illinois and Kristi Zeller from Toledo.
