ATHENS, Ohio - New Ohio University women's basketball head coach Bob Boldon has finalized the last piece of his staff with the hiring of Marwan Miller as the team's new director of basketball operations, the program announced Monday.
"Marwan brings a tremendous amount of energy and excitement for the game of basketball to our program," Boldon said. "He genuinely cares about the well-being of the student-athletes. I am very excited to add him to our staff and I look forward to working with him."
Miller comes to Athens after spending the last nine years as the program director/head basketball coach for the Ohio Glory Basketball Club in Columbus. While with Ohio Glory, Miller was responsible for the direction and organization of all on and off-court activities for the program and was in charge of coordinating all travel arrangements for 40 players and the rest of the coaching staff. From 2006-07 Marwan was an assistant varsity girls' basketball coach at Columbus Africentric Early College and then spent the 2008-09 season as the head varsity coach at Columbus South High School. Throughout all of this time, he has also spent the last 12 years as a student safety resource coordinator within the Columbus City School District.
Miller earned his Associate Degree in General Studies from Columbus State in 2007 and completed his Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Communication from Franklin University in 2012.
