CLEVELAND, Ohio - Ohio women's basketball senior Lauren Kohn (Adrian, Mich.) has been named to the Preseason All-MAC Team for the East Division.
Kohn averaged a team-high 16.1 points per game in her first year, after sitting out a season per NCAA transfer rules. She was named to the 2007 Academic All-MAC Team and garnered second-team All-MAC honors for her 16.2 points per game average in league contests. Kohn scored a personal best of 30 points against Cleveland State and had seven games with 20 or more points. Against a MAC opponent, she recorded a high of 25 points against Eastern Michigan during the MAC Tournament.
Others to join Kohn on the East Division honor roll are Kate Achter of Bowling Green, Amanda Jackson of Miami, Sarah Tokodi of Akron and Heather Turner of Buffalo.
The West Division squad includes Julie DeMuth of Ball State, Tiera DeLaHoussaye of Western Michigan, Porchia Green of Ball State, Alyssa Pittman of Eastern Michigan and Jessie Wilcox of Northern Illinois.
The Preseason All-MAC Teams were voted on by members of the MAC News Media Association and the league's head coaches.
Players selected to the Preseason All-MAC teams will be available for interviews at the conference's Basketball Media Day, which is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 18 at Quicken Loans Arena in downtown Cleveland. The media portion of the schedule is set to begin at 2:00 p.m. Fans will also be able to watch the media preview live on the internet at www.mac-sports.com.
