ATHENS, Ohio – Ohio Women’s Basketball held its first team practice on Monday morning. OhioBobcats.com caught up with Head Coach Semeka Randall after the session to talk about the first day of training.
On the first day of practice “At the first day of practice, I thought our energy was pretty good. Obviously our players didn’t know what to expect. We definitely switched our drills up a little bit and let them think a little bit and play the game of basketball to the best of their ability. For the most part I thought it was pretty good.”
On the performance of the freshmen “I thought they did pretty good. They were typical freshmen and at times they looked like deer in the headlights, but I thought just their natural instincts and playing off their abilities, they did a fantastic job of that.”
The Bobcats will open the 2012-13 season with a home exhibition contest against Wheeling Jesuit on Nov. 8. Ohio will then officially begin the regular season on Tuesday, Nov. 13 when Cleveland State comes to town.
