Ohio-Marshall Game Notes 
ATHENS, Ohio -
Fresh off its first win of the season over a tough George Washington squad, Ohio women's basketball (1-2) returns to the floor to wrap up a three-game homestand as it plays host to Marshall (1-2) Tuesday at 7 p.m.

RECAPPING LAST GAME
Jennifer Bushby and Kamille Buckner recorded the second double-doubles of their careers, and Da'Keisha Mann came close to picking one up herself, to help lead Ohio to a 70-58 win over George Washington ... Bushby led the `Cats with 20 points, including 4-of-7 shooting from behind the arc, and a career-high 12 rebounds, while Buckner tallied 11 points and 10 boards. Mann tied her career-best 16 points and pulled down nine rebounds, finishing just shy of a double-double. Freshman Ashley Fowler dished out a season- and career-best six assists, while sophomore Danielle Woodmore tied her career-high eight points to lead Ohio off the bench ... For the third-straight game, Ohio's defense proved to be a stingy one for the opposition, holding the Colonials to just 36 percent shooting from the field and 58 points on the day. The `Cats also won the battle on the boards, outrebounding GW 39-36 overall. The win was a big win for Ohio, as it beat a GW squad that qualified for the WNIT last season and reached the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament in both 2007 and 2008.
DEFENSE!
After being arguably the MAC's strongest defense squad last season, Ohio has picked up where it left off through the first three games, holding the opposition to just .365 shooting from the field and 56.3 points per game.
SCOUTING MARSHALL
The Thundering Herd are 1-2 thus far to start the season, having picked up a 70-58 win at home over Kent State their last time out ... Marshall finished the 2008-09 season with a 15-14 mark overall ... The Herd are averaging 55.7 ppg. on just .311 shooting from the field, and they are only averaging 12.7 turnovers a game thus far ... On the defensive side of the ball, Marshall has been strong, limiting its opposition to only 55.3 ppg. thus far while blocking five shots a contest.
Junior forward Tynikki Crook leads three Herd players in scoring at 12.3 ppg. She is also tops on the team in rebounding at 7.3 rpg. Senior Alyssa Hammond is close behind at 11.3 ppg. and 6.3 rpg. Sophomore Rashedah Henriques rounds off the three at 10.0 ppg. and also leads the team from behind the arc, knocking down 6-of-12 coming into the contest ... Head coach Royce Chadwick is in his ninth season at the helm of Marshall.
SERIES HISTORY
It will be meeting no. 35 for the two former conference foes Tuesday night. Ohio leads the series to this point, holding a 21-13 advantage. The Herd have held the edge in the series lately, winning five of the last seven, including three of four in Athens. Ohio is 2-1 against Marshall since it left the MAC following the 2004-05 season.
OHIO & Conference USA
The `Cats are 23-15 all-time against current members of Conference USA. Nearly all of those games have come against Marshall. Ohio is 2-1 all-time against East Carolina and 0-1 against Memphis, that meeting coming last season.
