Ohio's Black Named MAC East Player of the Week

Sophomore guard Kiyanna Black led the way with 20 points as Ohio University took down Notre Dame College last Saturday at the Convocation Center.

CLEVELAND -- Ohio University women's basketball's sophomore guard Kiyanna Black (Columbus, Ohio) has been named Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office.

Black led the way with 20 points to help the Bobcats (4-4) take down Notre Dame College, 72-55, last Saturday (Dec. 14) at the Convocation Center. The contest marked the third time this season she has reached the 20-point mark. In two home games, Black has averaged 27.5 points.

Black earned conference player of the week accolades for the second time in her career and first time in 2013-14.

Through eight games in 2013-14, Black leads Ohio with 13.9 points per game, 4.3 field goals made per game and 2.4 three-point field goals made per game. 

Ohio visits East Carolina on Friday (Dec. 20). Tip time is set for 7 p.m. ET.
