Last Time Out
The Bobcats enter the weekend with a 3-6 record after splitting two matches in Coraopolis, Pa. last weekend. Ohio defeated Towson University in dramatic fashion, coming from behind to top the Tigers 2-1 in overtime, before falling to Robert Morris University in a 5-2 loss on Sunday.

Comeback ‘Cats
Ohio put together a furious comeback to rally past the Towson Tigers in overtime last Saturday at Robert Morris’ Joe Walton Stadium. After trailing 1-0 for much of the game, the Bobcats scored with four minutes remaining to force overtime play. From there, senior Jessica Jue (Vancouver, British Columbia) continued to come up big, posting her third goal of the season on a breakaway seven minutes into the extra session to give Ohio the win.

Breakout Performances
Freshman Franziska Schmiedel (Mulheim, Germany) notched the first goal of her Ohio career in Saturday’s game, scoring the crucial game-tying goal to force overtime against Robert Morris. She also achieved a personal-best six shots in the contest, including two on goal. Junior Ashley Cureton (Henrico, Va.) also scored her first goal of the season in the Bobcats 5-2 loss at Robert Morris. Cureton posted three goals last season for the ‘Cats.

Jue’s Hot Streak
Senior Jessica Jue (Vancouver, British Columbia) continued her red-hot offensive play last weekend, posting goals in both matches, to extend her three-match scoring streak. She notched a career-best nine shots, including five on goal, in the win over Towson. She is second in points (10) and goals scored (4) for the Bobcats this season, while ranking fifth in the MAC in points per game (1.11) and eighth in goals per game (0.44).

Scouting the Buckeyes (3-7, 0-1 Big Ten)
Ohio State enters the matchup with a 3-7 record after playing a difficult non-conference schedule that included two top-10 teams. The Buckeyes fell to Michigan State last weekend with a 3-2 final score to begin Big Ten conference play. Offensively, Nora Murer leads the Buckeyes with 10 points on three goals and four assists, while goalkeeper Sarah Lemieux has collected 33 saves in seven starts on defense. The Bobcats are 5-15-1 all-time against Ohio State.
