Entry No. 3 - Nov. 2
Well, we got a win today and it feels good to be going to the championship game. We came out hard today with a lot of emotion and played really well for the first 10 mintues or so. After that, we continued to play well but were also able to see some areas that need improvement before tomorrow's game. We have to give credit to Central Michigan for playing hard and putting up a good fight.

We got to see a little bit of the Miami/Kent State game and Miami came out on top, 3-2. We know we've got our work cut out for us tomorrow because Miami will be emotionally charged and has the advantage of playing on its home field. I think that it will be key for us to prepare for what they have in store for us, but also to focus on the things we need to do to come out on top. If we focus on our game, we will be able to dictate the style of play and cause Miami to make adjustments on the field. We need to capitalize on our opportunities because Miami is a solid team and we expect them to play well. We are all very excited about tomorrow's game and are proud to represent Ohio Athletics. GO BOBCATS!

Entry No. 2 - Nov. 1
We arrived in Oxford around 10:30 this morning. We had a little bit of time to walk around and grab lunch as a team. We will be having a short practice later this afternoon where we'll have our last chance to finish preparing for our semi-final game against Central Michigan tomorrow.

I think we are going into the tournament knowing that we have a target on our backs because we are the reigning MAC champs. Neil (Macmillan) has really stressed the idea that we are reigning MAC champs, as opposed to defending MAC champs. We have nothing to defend. Every team in this tournament is going into the weekend wanting the same thing. Last year is over and everybody has a fresh start beginning today. I have no doubt that our team will come out hard with the attitude that it is going to take 70 minutes to win a game.

Tonight is the MAC awards banquet where all the teams get together for dinner and an awards presentation. It is nice to have the opportunity to socialize with our opponents outside of the game setting. A lot of our families and fans are arriving tonight to cheer us on this weekend. It is awesome to have the support from our fans, especially on the road. We can't thank you all enough for your dedication and ongoing encouragement. Once again, GO BOBCATS!!!

Entry No. 1 - Oct. 30
Today is Tuesday and we are just three days away from our first game in the 2007 MAC Field Hockey Tournament at Miami. It is hard to believe that our regular season has come to an end, but we are all excited about what lies ahead of us.

I think our team truly understands that each game from here on will be a hard-fought game. Although we were very successful in the MAC during the regular season, we respect all of our MAC opponents and are expecting them to play hard during the tournament. I think it will be essential for us to execute the game plan prepared by our coaches and to develop that plan these next few days in practice.

We will face the winner of the game between Central Michigan and Ball State. Although we are very familiar with both of these teams, we anticipate new styles and ideas to be thrown at us. Our defense was really solid in our last few games and it is an awesome feeling as a forward to know that my teammates are strong and tough defenders. As far as our attack goes, we are looking to capitalize on our opportunities and work off one another to put the ball in the back of the cage.

I think one of our best qualities as a team is that we have so many different players who have scored this season. Torrie (Albini) and Rachelle (Coetzee) have been consistent scoring threats all season long, but it is just as impressive to have Patty (Donahue) and Taylor (Anderson) step up a couple weekends ago and each score a goal. Also, just this past weekend in our 3-0 win over Central Michigan, two out of our three goals were scored by defenders Nikki (Gnozzio) and Stahl (Lauren Stahlhuth). Our opponents have to be prepared for a variety of different scorers because someone different can step up on any given day. To round out our team, we have a strong, emotional leader in Jessie (Martin) in goal, who has been solid in her play this entire season.

All in all, we are all ready to buckle down and focus this week in practice and do what needs to be done so we can be confident heading into the tournament. We've worked hard all year and are eager to go up against good competition and win one game at a time. Thanks for your support of Ohio Field Hockey and....GO BOBCATS!!!!
