ATHENS, Ohio - The National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced Ali Johnstone and Lauren Mazziotto as members of the NFHCA South All-Star Squad.

Johnstone (9 G, 9 A, 27 PTS) and Mazziotto (5 G, 14 A, 3DS, 24 PTS) played crucial roles to the Bobcats success this season. For their performance in the regular season, they both were named 2001 All-MAC First Team Selection and Johnstone was named MAC Field Hockey Player of the Year.

In the MAC tournament this past weekend, Mazziotto with assistance from Johnstone scored the game-winning goal in overtime against Ball State advancing Ohio to their second MAC Championship appearance under head coach Shelly Morris.

In the championship game, Mazziotto scored the game-winning goal with 6:31 left in regulation time resulting in a 3-2 victory over the defending MAC Champions Kent State.

The NFHCA Senior All-Star game will be held November 17, at Dix Stadium on the campus of Kent State. For additional information, contact the NFHCA office at 804-364-8700.
