ATHENS, Ohio - Ohio senior Rachelle Coetzee was named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I All-West Region Second Team, the NFHCA announced Wednesday, marking the second-straight year she has received the honor.

Coetzee (Bloemfontein, S.A.) has garnered First-Team All-Mid-American Conference and All-MAC Tournament Team accolades this season, as well. The accounting and management information systems major was also tabbed the MAC Female Scholar Athlete of the Week Sept. 4.

The senior led Ohio this year with 11 goals, including two game winners, 28 points, 62 shots and 29 shots on goal, and was second on the squad with six assists. She played in all 23 matches for the Bobcats in her final season, staring 21 of them. She ranks fourth on Ohio's career shots list with 241.

The All-West Region Team consists of the top players from the West Region, which is the largest of the five regions, and includes 17 teams, mostly from the Big Ten, the MAC and the NorPac Conference.

Coetzee, along with Ohio senior goalie Jessie Martin (Louisville, Ky.), were chosen as the only two players from the MAC to compete in the NFHCA Division I Senior All-Star Game. Coetzee and Martin will represent the Bobcats and the conference in the All-Star Game Saturday, Nov. 22 at the University of Louisville's Trager Stadium in Louisville, Ky.
