ATHENS, Ohio - Ohio's Louzeth Schutte was named an All-American by WomensFieldHockey.com. The senior defender was named to the third team after earning Mid-American Conference Player of the Year honors.
Schutte led the Bobcats to their seventh regular season title and third NCAA trip in program history. She was part of a defense that only allowed 15 goals during the 2011 regular season. Schutte was a three-time MAC Defensive Player of the Week
The senior leader helped the Ohio defense rank second in the nation with a 0.85 goals-against average and third in shutouts. She also finished 32nd in the nation in defensive saves, leading the Bobcats.
