ATHENS, Ohio - The National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced today that Ohio Head Coach Neil Macmillan was named the 2007 Dita/NFHCA West Region Coach of the Year.

In just three seasons at the helm of Ohio field hockey, Macmillan has compiled a 39-26 (.600) career record, while leading the `Cats to consecutive conference regular-season and tournament titles in 2006 and 2007.

Under Macmillan, Ohio has garnered seven All-MAC First Team selections, eight All-MAC Second Team selections and two MAC Player of the Year honors.

Last season, the `Cats posted the most wins in 25 years and were also ranked in the national coaches' poll all season long. Also for the first time since 2001, Ohio made it to the field of 16 teams in the NCAA Tournament.
