RIO VERDE, Ariz. - The Ohio University women's golf team concluded play in the Rio Verde Invitational in record-fashion on Sunday (March 9), carding a combined team score of 303 (+19) in the final round to arrive at a 54-hole total of 929 (+77), earning the squad an 11th-place finish.

The three-round score marks the eighth-best in program history as well as the Bobcats' best showing in the Rio Verde Invitational since 2006 when they finished 10th in the field. Xavier fired a 299 (+15) to capture the tournament crown with a 900 (+48) combined team score. Individually, Montana's Tara Green took home the top honor, tallying a 219 (+6) 54-hole score.

Sophomore Angela Codian (Massillon, Ohio) recorded a final-round of 74 (+3) to net her a total of 230 (+17) and lone possession of 23rd place. She compiled a team-high four birdies in her final round and was one of only eight student-athletes in the 96-player field to improve her 18-hole score in every round.

Senior Kara Brinkmann (Middletown, Ohio) clubbed an individual-round, season-best 73 (+2) to finish the tournament tied for 28th with a three-round total of 232 (+19).

Senior Kristen Helmsdoerfer (Westerville, Ohio) posted a 77 (+6) mark to move her into a tie for 33rd. Her 233 (+20) 54-hole score in the tournament stands as her three-round career-best at Ohio.

Freshman Hailey Hrynewich (Muskegon, Mich.) teed an 81 (+10) in the final round, bringing her into a tie for 52nd with a total of 238 (+35).

Junior Julie Lechner (Powell, Ohio) tallied a 79 (+8) to arrive at a 242 (+29) mark, good enough for a share of 66th place.

Sophomore Lauren McKinzie (Medina, Ohio) carded an 85 (+13) to finish play with a 248 (+35) score, placing her in a tie for 79th. Ohio will embark on a two-week break, returning to the greens March 23 for the 2014 Morehead State University Ocala Spring Collegiate Invitational.
