Ohio Women's Golf In 12th At Lady Buckeye Invitational

Senior Kara Brinkmann's first round mark of 75 (+3) was good enough for the tournament's seventh-best individual round-one score.

Day 1 Results

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio University women’s golf team rests in 12th place after carding combined-team totals of 318 (+30) and 321 (+33) to arrive at a 36-hole mark of 639 (+63) after the opening two rounds of the Lady Buckeye Invitational on Saturday (April 19) at the Ohio State University Golf Club’s Scarlet Course.

Sophomore Angela Codian (Massillon, Ohio) tallied two birdies en route to 18-hole scores of 80 (+8) and 78 (+6), respectively, to finish day one play with a 158 (+14) to garner a share of 38th place.

Freshman Hailey Hrynewich (Muskegon, Mich.) dealt duplicate scores of 80 (+8) to pull her into a tie for 44th place with a 160 (+16) mark. The rookie compiled two birdies in the second round.

Senior Kara Brinkmann (Middletown, Ohio) tallied scores of 75 (+3) and 86 (+14) to finish the day knotted in a tie for 48th place. Brinkmann’s duo of birdies in the first round helped her card the tournament’s seventh best round-one individual score.

Junior Julie Lechner (Powell, Ohio) compiled identical round scores of 83 (+11) on her way to a 166 (+22) two-round total. She currently holds sole possession of 65th place.

Senior Kristen Helmsdoerfer (Westerville, Ohio) tallied an 87 (+15) in round one but cut her second-round score (80; +8) by seven strokes to finish 36 holes of play in 66th place with a 167 (+23) mark.

Sophomore Lauren McKinzie (Medina, Ohio) struck scores of 86 (+14) and 83 (+11) to end the day in a tie for 70th place with a 169 (+25) 36-hole total.

Ohio will begin final round action at 8:30 a.m. ET on Sunday (April 20).
