COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio University women's golf team completed play in 12th place at the Lady Buckeye Invitational, carding a 318 (+30) in the final round on Sunday (April 20) en route to a 54-hole combined-team total of 957 (+93) at the Ohio State University Golf Club's Scarlet Course.
Sophomore Angela Codian (Massillon, Ohio) clubbed a 78 (+6) in the third round to finish in a tie for 34th place with a 236 (+20) 54-hole total.
Freshman Hailey Hrynewich (Muskegon, Mich.) struck her third 80 (+8) of the weekend to arrive at a three-round score of 240 (+24), netting her a share of 50th place.
Junior Julie Lechner (Powell, Ohio) tallied a team-best 76 (+4) in the final round to finish with a 242 (+26) mark, moving her into a tie for 57th place. Lechner was one-of-six student-athletes from the field to compile four-plus birdies in the tournament's final round.
Senior Kara Brinkmann (Middletown, Ohio) closed out play with an 87 (+15) in the final round to come to a 54-hole total of 248 (+32), giving her sole possession of 64th place.
Senior Kristen Helmsdoerfer (Westerville, Ohio) dealt an 84 (+12) in the final round to finish with a 251 (+35) three-round total, knotting her in a tie for 68th place.
Sophomore Lauren McKinzie (Medina, Ohio) rounded out play for the 'Cats with a 90 (+18) mark in the final round to finish in 71st place with a 54-hole total of 259 (+43).
Ohio now looks to prepare for the 2014 Mid-American Conference Championships next weekend (April 25-27) at the Hawthorns Golf and Country Club in Fishers, Ind.
