The Ohio University women's golf team finished in seventh place at the MAC Women's Golf Championship in Fishers, Indiana.
Megan Weaver (Canton, Ohio) improved for the second day in a row, shooting a final-round 77, and wound up leading the Bobcats with an overall score of 237. She led the team in birdies and wound up shooting a +1 on the front nine to establish a strong start to her final round.
Erin Cahill (Hilliard, Ohio) finished strong again on the back nine with a +1 and finished second overall at 238 and tied for second on the day with a 79. Jordan Fesh (Toledo, Ohio) also recorded a 79 during the final round for the Green & White and finished third overall with a 239.
Colleen Lienesch (Centerville, Ohio) finished fourth for the Bobcats with a score of 245 and Meryl Weaver (Canton, Ohio) ended the third round with a score of 252.
Martina Gavier of Kent State moved up to take the individual title with a three-day score of +2. On the final day she was able to hold off Brittany Kelly of Ball State who had a closing round of 71 to finish three strokes back. The leader heading into the final round, Robyn Scott of Eastern Michigan, finished third. Shamira Marshall of KSU moved from 10th to fourth and Rachel Pruett of BSU dropped back to fifth after being tied with Gavier at the start of the day.
Kent State (+28) ran away from the field to capture the team title and have won every championship since the inaugural event in 1999. Ball State (+47) held off Toledo (+48) for second place while Eastern Michigan (+62) dropped back to fourth and Akron (+65) snuck into the fifth spot.
