Bobcats Complete Day One at Nittany Lion Invitational

First Round Scores

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Ohio Women's Golf completed the first round of play at the 2012 Nittany Lion Invitational on Friday. The Bobcats shot a team score of 320 on the first day and are currently in 14th place.

Host Penn State ended the day in first place, shooting a team score of 292. Old Dominion currently ranks second, having shot a score of 296.

Angela Codian (Massilon, Ohio) led the way for the Green and White, ending the day tied for fifth place with a score of 73. Codian carded four birdies during her first time through the course and is currently only four strokes off the pace of 69 set by Penn State's Ellen Ceresko.

Fellow freshman Lauren McKinzie (Medina, Ohio) currently ranks second for Ohio, having shot a first-round 80 to end the day tied for 59th place. Not far behind her was Kara Brinkmann (Middletown, Ohio), who ended the day tied for 73rd with an 82.

Julie Lechner (86th), Kristen Helmsdoerfer (T87th) and Sarah Tranelli (T94th) rounded out Ohio's participation in the tournament on Friday. These student-athletes finished with scores of 85, 86 and 88, respectively.

Day Two of the Nittany Lion Invitational begins on Saturday morning at 8 a.m.
