Ohio Women's Golf Completes Xavier Invite
Oct. 14, 2007 DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Ohio women's golf team completed its fall tournament schedule on Sunday in Florida at the LPGA International Xavier Invitational. Playing the 6,225-yard LPGA International course in a tournament hosted by the Musketeers, the Ohio women compiled a 54-hole team score of 981. The Bobcats finished last in the 14-team event. Katie Stafford (Phoenix, Ariz.) was Ohio's top finisher in the event. The senior turned in a 54-hole score of 242, which tied her for 49th among the tourney's 78 golfers. Her best round of the event was a 78 in Saturday's second round. Lauren Bergman (Blacklick, Ohio) finished two strokes behind Stafford in a tie for 54th. Like Stafford, Bergman's best round of the weekend came in Saturday's second 18 holes when she shot an 80. Erin Cahill (Hilliard, Ohio) shot a 249 in the tournament to finish in a tie for 67th and Colleen Lienesch (Centerville, Ohio) was two shots behind her in 71st. Jordan Fesh (Toledo, Ohio) closed out Ohio's card with a 252 to tie for 72nd. Florida Atlantic shot a 906 to take the tournament title, three strokes in front of Coastal Carolina. Ann Maness of Coastal Carolina earned the event's individual medal with a two-over 218. The Bobcat women will close out the competitive fall season with a triangular on Oct. 19 at Cincinnati against the Bearcats and IUPUI. |
