Complete Spring Schedule

ATHENS, Ohio – With a successful 2012 fall season in the rearview, Ohio Women’s Golf looks ahead to the upcoming season by announcing its 2013 spring schedule. The Bobcats will begin play this spring in early March and will wrap things up by hosting the 2013 Mid-American Conference Championships from Apr. 26-28.

Ohio opens the spring season with a busy March, playing three competitions during the first three weeks of the month. The team will begin play in the Spring Challenge Cup against Bowling Green in Fountain Hills, Ariz., on Mar. 5-6. The ‘Cats will then head to the nearby Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational to be played Mar. 8-10 at White Wing Golf Club in Rio Verde, Ariz. Each of these competitions will be played over 54 holes.

Ohio wraps up the month of March by competing at the 2013 Morehead State Ocala Spring Collegiate Invitational in Ocala, Fla. The Bobcats placed ninth at this tournament during the 2012 spring season. Another 54-hole competition, this tournament will be played at the Juliette Falls Golf Club.

Following a short break from competition, Ohio will open April with trips to Richmond, Ky., for the Lady Colonel Classic (Apr. 5-6) and Bowling Green, Ohio, for the Falcon Invitational (Apr. 13-14). The ‘Cats will then wrap up the spring season by hosting the Mid-American Conference Tournament at Longaberger Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio, from Apr. 26-28.

Ohio had a strong fall 2012 season, ending competition in October with a third-place finish at the University of Dayton Fall Invitational. Freshman Angela Codian (Massilon, Ohio) was Ohio’s top finisher at each competition and ended the fall season with a stroke average of 75.58, ranking first in the MAC.
