ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio University women's golf team storms the greens Friday (March 7) to compete at the 12th annual Rio Verde Invitational in Rio Verde, Ariz. Western Michigan will play host to the three-day, 54-hole extravaganza to be held at the Rio Verde Country Club's Quail Run course.
The 18-team field is set to begin play Friday at 3 p.m EST in a shotgun start. The succeeding rounds will begin at 10 a.m. EST on Saturday (March 8) and Sunday (March 9), respectively. Live stats will be available throughout the tournament.

Ohio is joined by seventeen other teams spanning 10 states and seven conferences. Fellow Mid-American Conference schools joining Ohio and Western Michigan include Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Northern Illinois and Toledo.
In-state foe Xavier will also take part in the tournament as well as Missouri Valley Conference members Bradley, Illinois State, Missouri State, and Wichita State. Arkansas-Little Rock, Missouri-Kansas City, Montana, Northern Arizona and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi round out the field.
Quail Run is one of two state-of-the-art courses that the Rio Verde Country Club maintains. Known for its scenic views of neighboring mountains, the course plays a par of 71 and a total length of 6,209 yards. 2014 marks Quail Run's ninth time hosting the tournament.
Last Time Out
The Bobcats come off a month-long break in action following the Mid American Match Play Challenge (Feb. 3-4). The Green and White finished the Florida tournament with a 4-1 win over Akron to secure a 1-2 record. Senior Kara Brinkmann (Middletown, Ohio) compiled a 3-0 record to secure distinction of being one of only five undefeated players in the field.
The Bobcats will travel back to Florida later this month (March 23-25) to take part in the Morehead State University Ocala Spring Collegiate Invitational.
