SEBRING, Fla. -- Ohio trimmed nine strokes off its team score for the final round Saturday to kickoff the spring season with a third-place finish at the Springlake Classic this weekend. The Bobcats totaled 637 (scores of 323-314), 12 strokes off the pace set by Lynn and only two strokes behind runner-up William & Mary.

Cari Mozingo finished sixth in the tournament with a 157 (80-77), just five strokes behind the tournament winners. Diane Rubin (79-82), Ashely McCall (81-80) and Aimee Fronczak (84-77) all tied for 14th at 161, while Candace Artz tied for 23rd at 163 (83-80).

Sara Ann Palmer competed as an individual and tied for 42nd at 169 (86-83)

"I think we played great today," said head coach Ann Slater. "We cut nine strokes off our first round total. I was really pleased with our execution considering we have only had five full rounds outside. I think our short game, especially sand play, was affected. Aimee put together a pair of good nines today and Cari was sharp with birdies on her last two holes.

The Bobcats head to Pinehurst, N.C. next week for a practice and competition during the university's spring break.
