ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio University women's golf team will be back in action on Friday (April 4) as it is set to participate in the 2014 Colonel Classic at the Arlington Golf Club in Richmond, Ky.

The Bobcats will begin the 54-hole event in a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on Friday morning. Thirty six holes will be played on day one, with round two scheduled to commence following completion of round one. The final 18 holes will take place on Saturday (April 5).

This year's Colonel Classic showcases a field of 12. In addition to host Eastern Kentucky, Ohio is joined by Mid-American Conference foes Akron and Bowling Green, as well as in-state competitors Cleveland State and Xavier. Regional rival Marshall will also take part in the tournament.

The Arlington Golf Club serves as the home for Eastern Kentucky's men's and women's golf teams and sits at a par-72 playing 5,838 yards.

Ohio returns all five players from last week's 2014 Morehead State University Ocala Spring Invitational (March 23-25). Seniors Kara Brinkmann (Middletown, Ohio), Kristen Helmsdoerfer (Westerville, Ohio), junior Julie Lechner (Powell, Ohio), sophomore Angela Codian (Massillon, Ohio) and freshman Hailey Hrynewich (Muskegon, Mich.) will all be competing in their third tournament this spring. Freshman Jessica McRae (Medina, Ohio) will make her Ohio debut as an individual competitor.

Led by MAC Golfer of the Week Hrynewich's record-shattering performance at the Ocala Invitational, Ohio fired yet another combined-team score good enough for record standing. The Bobcats' 920 (+56) three-round combined-team total sketched the record books as the third-best 54-hole mark in program history.

Hrynewich led the team with a 218 (+2) effort giving the freshman the individual-best 54-hole score in program history. Helmsdoerfer struck a 73 (+1) in the final round marking the senior's career-best 18-hole total.

Ohio will next compete at Bowling Green's 2014 Dolores Black Falcon Invitational on April 12-13.
