Bobcats Prepare for MAC Championships

2012 MAC Championship ATHENS, Ohio – With the 2012 spring season coming to an end, Ohio Women’s Golf prepares for the Mid-American Conference Championships. The Bobcats will match up against the rest of the conference in the three-day tournament beginning on Friday at the Hawthorns Golf and Country Club in Fishers, Ind. Ohio is coming off its best tournament finish in two seasons, as the Bobcats placed third at the 2012 Dolores A. Black Falcon Invitational on April 15. Integral in this successful outing was the performance of senior Megan Weaver (Canton, Ohio). Weaver earned second at the tournament, ending only one stroke off the first-place finisher. For her efforts, she was recently named the MAC’s female Scholar Athlete of the Week. The Bobcats will match up against golfers from Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Northern Illinois, Toledo and Western Michigan at the tournament. These nine schools will compete on a 6,127 yard par-72 course which was the site of the MAC Preview tournament back in October. Ohio, Kent State and Eastern Michigan will be teeing off at the same times on Friday, with the three schools sending out their five golfers between 9:20 a.m. and 10 a.m. The second and third rounds will be determined based on team scores from the first round.
