Megan Weaver Named MAC Sportswoman of the Year

ATHENS, Ohio – Megan Weaver of Ohio Women’s Golf has been named the 2012 Mid-American Conference Golf Sportswoman of the Year, the league office announced recently. The senior helped lead her team to a seventh-place finish at the MAC Championships this weekend in Fishers, Indiana.

Weaver (Canton, Ohio) had a terrific senior season for the Bobcats, shooting an average of 78.2 through 20 rounds in the spring. The senior has finished within the top 20 of four separate tournaments, with her second-place finish (in a field of 75) at the 2012 Dolores A. Black Falcon Invitational representing the best of her season and matching the best of her career. Megan has been an integral senior leader for the Bobcats, helping her team to its best finish in two years during the spring season, a third-place result at the Falcon Invitational.

Weaver scored her lowest round of the season—a 73—in the first round at the Falcon Invitational. The senior shot 75 or under in four of the 20 rounds throughout the season. Throughout her impressive career, Weaver has finished within the top five at a tournament on seven different occasions.

Finishing first among her Bobcat teammates at the 2012 Championships, Weaver tied for 19th with a three-round score of 240.
