Ohio Golf Signs Early Recruit

Athens, Ohio - Ohio women's golf coach Ann Slater announced the signing of high school senior Sara Ann Palmer (Dublin, Ohio). Palmer signed an early letter of intent and will join the Bobcats for the 2001-2002 school year.
Palmer was a member of the 2000 state champion Dublin Coffman High School golf team. She placed 11th in the championship. Her high school finished third in 1999.
This past summer, Palmer finished in the top 30 with a three round score of 248 at the National High School Coaches Association Championship at Orange County National in Orlando, Florida. She also finished fourth at the Ohio State Junior Girls Golf Tournament and place first in the girls division at the Columbus District Golf Association/Mid-Ohio Golfer Junior Championship.
During the winter of 1999-00 she was a member of the Nike Winternational Junior Series of Golf and The Jim McClean Future Collegiates World Tour.
Palmer also performs well in the classroom. She is a member of the National Honor Society with a 4.07 GPA on a 4.0 scale. She is a member of key club and was chosen to represent the ladies' golf team in "Faces in the Crowd" for her outstanding leadership and academics.
"I am excited that Sara Ann has signed to be a part of our program. She will bring energy and experience to the team. Sara Ann has a consistent, solid swing and a great concept of the game that will bring her success at the collegiate level," Slater said.
The Bobcats finished their fall season finishing in the top five in two of their four events. Ohio opens up spring play on March 9 when they travel to Sebring, Fla. to take part in the Springlake Golf Classic with Northern Illinois.
