Complete 2006 Schedule
ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio lacrosse team will begin its 2006 season on Feb. 19 with a game at 2005 NCAA-qualifier Maryland. The game will be the first for Bobcats' Head Coach Allison Valentino on the Ohio sideline. The match-up is the first of three games the Bobcats will play against teams that participated in last season's NCAA postseason, including defending champion Northwestern.
Following the game with Maryland, the Bobcats will make their home debut on Feb. 25 against Duquesne. Ohio will also host non-conference tilts with Howard (Feb. 27), UMBC (Apr. 19) and Brown (May 6). The Bobcats will face non-conference competition on the road at Notre Dame (Mar. 2), California (Mar. 21), St. Mary's (Mar. 23), Oregon (Mar. 25) and Virginia Tech (Apr. 4).
Ohio will begin its fifth season of play in the American Lacrosse Conference on Mar. 4 when it travels to Evanston to take on defending national champion Northwestern. The Wildcats won their first-ever NCAA title last season with a perfect 21-0 record. The Bobcats will also face league foes Johns Hopkins (Mar. 10), a 2005 NCAA qualifier, and Vanderbilt (Apr. 14) on the road. Ohio will host ALC contests with Davidson (Mar. 31), Ohio State (Apr. 9) and Penn State (Apr. 23).
The Bobcats return 13 letterwinners from last season's team, including leading scorer and all-conference pick Dana Dobbie.
