Kiersten McLouth, a freshman from Centreville, Va. joins the Bobcats after lettering in lacrosse and field hockey at Westfield High School. She was named first-team all-district and first-team all-region as a high school player.

McLouth took time to answer some questions about playing for the Bobcats and what she enjoys on and off the field.

Why did you choose Ohio?
I chose Ohio because I thought that the team worked well together. They were very welcoming and very nice. I also liked the campus very much, and Ohio had my major, sport management.

What is the best part about playing lacrosse at Ohio?
The best part about playing lacrosse at Ohio is being with the team, and knowing that you have 20 other girls will be there backing you up.

What are your goals for the upcoming season, both for yourself and for the team?
My personal goal is to gain confidence and intensity so that I can play at the college level. It is a big step from high school to college, and I want to try and make a smooth transition.

If you could have dinner with any three people, alive or dead, who would they be and why?
First would be Oprah, I think that she is a very inspiring and amazing person. Second would be Vince Vahn because he is one of my favorite actors and he always makes me laugh. The third would be one of my grandfathers. I only saw him when I was really young so I don't remember him. I would like to see what he was like and how he viewed things.

What are your interests outside of playing lacrosse?
My other interests are sport related. I would love to be involved with the NFL somehow. I love sports and couldn't really imagine my life without them.

Who is the funniest person on your team and why?
Jennifer Heup. I think she is the funniest person because she can always make you laugh in any situation. It is one thing to make a person laugh when they are in a good mood, but it is another to make someone laugh when they don't feel like laughing at all.

Who has been your biggest influence and why?
My mom has been my biggest influence. She wants me to succeed in what I do, and I want to succeed for her and for myself. She loved playing sports just to play, not for any other reason. When she was my age women were only allowed to play softball, and to have this opportunity is amazing.

Outside of text books, what is the last book you read?
Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants

What advice would you give to younger girls who want to play lacrosse in college?
You have to love what you do, and if you don't you will never make it. It takes heart to play at this level.

What is your favorite movie and why?
Wedding Crashers. It teaches you about real love, and it also makes you laugh. Anything that can make me laugh is amazing.
