ATHENS, Ohio Ohio University seniors Lynz Keys and Becky Oxman have been selected to the American Lacrosse Conference Preseason All-Conference Team, the league announced today. Voting was conducted by the conference's seven head coaches.

Keys, a native of Whitby, Ontario, Canada, scored 30 goals and registered 31 points last season for the Bobcats, finishing second and third on the team, respectively. She tallied at least one point in every game but one, registering a season-high of five against Northwestern. Keys scored at least two goals 11 times in 15 games as a midfielder and was second on the team with 29 draw controls.

Oxman, from Bryn Mawr, Pa., earned first-team all-conference honors a year ago. She cracked the league's single-season top 10 for points (eighth at 37), goals (10th at 25) and assists (tied for fifth at 12, the team high). The midfielder scored goals on 13 occasions, reaching four against Davidson. She also had a season-high three assists that day for a career-best seven points and set a new school record with six caused turnovers.

Vanderbilt led all conference school with three of the 12 selections. Ohio State had a pair, including Regina Oliver, who was named Preseason Player of the Year after capturing the same honor at the end of the 2003 season.

The American Lacrosse Conference is a lacrosse-only conference and will send its regular-season champion to the 2004 NCAA tournament by virtue of an automatic qualifying berth.

The Bobcats, with 13 returning letterwinners from last year, open their season at home on Feb. 27 against Albany. Admission to the 1 p.m. contest is free.
