CHAPEL HILL, N.C. Lynz Keys scored four goals and the Ohio lacrosse team held a 6-5 lead late in the first half but North Carolina rallied for a 12-8 victory Sunday afternoon at Henry Stadium.

The loss is the first of the year for the Bobcats, who swept a pair of home matches last weekend.

After falling behind in the game's first 1:09, the Bobcats tallied three straight goals to open a two-point lead. Becky Oxman and Dana Dobbie scored on free position shots at 3:17 and 7:03, respectively. Keys found the net for the first time one second before the 10-minute mark for the 3-1 edge.

UNC answered with a goal at 10:46, then tied the score at three at the 13:32 mark. The game stayed that way for six minutes when Keys scored three straight for Ohio at 20:10, 23:02 and 26:48. However, each goal was immediately answered by the Tar Heels until they broke a 6-6 tie with a goal 41 seconds before intermission.

The barrage continued as UNC scored four times in the first 7:18 of the second half for an 11-6 lead. Kathleen Macari broke the drought with her first career strike at 37:44, but UNC pushed the lead back to five, 12-7, with the next score.

Caitlin Link rounded out the scoring with a conversion at 56:54. Dobbie and Macari recorded assists for the game. The Bobcats were outshot 23-17 in the contest and committed seven more turnovers.

The Bobcats open American Lacrosse Conference play on Friday when they travel to Johns Hopkins.
