Despite chilly weather, the Bobcats caught fire early as they scored two goals in the first 66 seconds against St. Bonaventure.

    ATHENS, Ohio Lynz Keys scored three goals and three others scored a pair as Ohio won its second lacrosse match in as many days, 11-6 over St. Bonaventure, Sunday at Pruitt Field. The Bobcats defeated Monmouth 10-5 yesterday in the home opener.

    Sunday's action started with a bang as Melissa Menna gave Ohio a 1-0 lead just 19 seconds into the contest, when she converted a pass from Keys. Alyssa Trocher added to the lead less than a minute later, at the 1:06 mark, with an unassisted goal before Lindsey Hart converted a free position shot 4:06 into the game.

    The Bobcats went on to a 5-2 lead at halftime behind the first of Keys' scores and a goal by Becky Oxman. St. Bonaventure's Katie Murphy tallied two of her team-high three goals in the period.

    A flurry of goals started the second half as four tallies were added to the board in a span of 1:20. Ohio's Kristen Gombeski opened the scoring at the 3:03 mark, but the Bonnies converted back-to back free position shots in a 22- second span to close to with two, 6-4 with 26:02 remaining. Kelly Chevez scored the first, followed by Murphy.

    After St. Bonaventure's Laura Spaulding cut the lead back to 7-5 at the 8:25 mark, Ohio scored four straight goals to seal the victory.

    Menna, Trocher and Hart each tallied two goals for Ohio, with Trocher adding two assists. Jennifer Cassidy had 19 saves in goal in running her record and the team's to 2-1 on the young season.
