ATHENS, Ohio Lynz Keys scored a pair of goals and Lindsay Hart tallied a goal and an assist, but 11th-ranked Notre Dame was too much for the Bobcats in a 19-4 contest Tuesday at Peggy Pruitt Field.

The Bobcats (1-2) went up 1-0 in the game's first 1:50 when Becky Oxman found the net unassisted, but the Irish (2-0) scored four straight goals, two by Danielle Shaffer, to surge ahead. Hart converted a free position chance at the 11:33 mark to cut the deficit to 4-2, but back-to-back pairs of goals by Meredith Simon and Crysti Foote stretched the margin back to six.

Keys' first goal of the game, on a pass from Hart, with 7:57 left in the half made the score 8-3, but ND added a pair of goals by intermission for a 10-3 lead at the break.

The Irish opened the second half with six straight goals to put the game out of reach. Keys tallied her second goal of the contest with 11 minutes left before three late Irish scores made the difference 15.

The Bobcats will be at home again this Friday with a 3 p.m. match against Virginia Tech. Admission is free to all of Ohio's home lacrosse matches at Peggy Pruitt Field on Shafer Street.
