    COLUMBUS -- The 15th-ranked Ohio State women's lacrosse team used a free position goal by Regina Oliver at 54:02 to defeat Ohio 9-8, Thursday night in the Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. Dana Dobbie collected three goals in the game to lead the Bobcats.

    The Bobcats (1-5, 0-3 ALC) opened the scoring with a free position goal by Dobbie at 5:36. Ohio State (4-1, 2-0 ALC) tallied the next two goals before Frannie Sullivan evened the score at 16:01. After Ohio State regained the lead at 3-2, the Bobcats
    broke the game open with a trio of goals in the next three and a half minutes. The run began with a Kristen Gombeski goal at 21:02. Dobbie scored
    her second goal at 23:06 with an assist from Caitlin Link. Sullivan's second goal of the game at 24:35 on a free position shot gave the Bobcats a 5-3 lead. OSU found the net at 28:42 to cut the margin to 5-4 at half.

    Ohio trailed 6-5 when when Molly Wurdack tallied back-to-back goals. The first came on a free position shot at 36:02, while the second was unassisted at 36:48, giving the Bobcats a 7-6 lead. The Buckeyes countered with a free position score at 44:55 to tie the game at seven, then took an 8-7 lead at 47:41.

    Ohio tied the game for the seventh time with Dobbie's third goal of the game with an assist from Amanda Diehl. Regina Oliver scored the
    winning goal for Ohio State at 54:02 on a free position attempt for the final 9-8 score.

    In goal for Ohio State, Kim Hastings picked up the win while making five saves. For the Bobcats, Jayme Levy took the loss in goal, collecting seven saves.

    Ohio stays on the road Sunday with a conference match at Davidson.
