Ohio Lacrosse Falls to Lehigh, 9-4


Bethlehem, Pa -- Lehigh won its first game of the season by defeating the Ohio lacrosse team, 9-4, on Sunday afternoon.
Mountain Hawk attacker Ashley Manion recorded three goals, the first coming at the 7:21 mark of the second half, which proved to be the eventual game-winner. Teammate Kristin Strohm collected four points. The junior scored a goal and helped to set up three others.

The Bobcats (0-3) were led by sophomore Alyssa Trocher (Ellicott City, Md.) who registered three goals in the defeat. Freshman Melissa Menna (Downingtown, Pa.) netted the only other Ohio goal.

The Mountain Hawks received outstanding play from keeper Vanessa Abbott. The freshman shut down the Bobcats' offensive attack, making 15 saves while only allowing four goals. Jennifer Cassidy (Whitby, Ont.) made 12 saves for Ohio.

Ohio continues its four-game road trip with a match against Bucknell on Tuesday.
