Meredith Corkery scored to give the CU a 9-8 lead at 17:18 of the second half. After the goal, the Bobcats replaced their starting goalie, Katie Borokhovich (Powell), with Cassidy, who blanked the Light Blue the rest of the way. Ohio tied the score, 9-9, on a goal by freshman Melissa Menna (Downington, Pa.), and took the lead when Alyssa Trocher (Ellicott City, Md.) found the back of the net for the fifth time at the 12:17 mark. The Bobcats would add three more goals to send the Lions to their fourth straight defeat.
Ohio registered a season-high 13 goals on just 22 shots. The Bobcats were led by Trocher's game-high seven points (5 goals, 2 assists). Menna continued her strong freshman campaign with three goals, while Ashley Boccia (Salisbury, Md.) registered her first two goals of the season. Dianne Villarreal (Englewood, Colo.), Lynz Keys (Whitby, Ont.) and Ashley Bauer (Shaker Heights) recorded the other Ohio goals. Sophomore Lindsey Hart (Vineland, Ont.) added three assists in the victory.
