Ohio Lacrosse Falls to LaSalle, 14-11
Philadelphia, Pa. - The Ohio lacrosse team dropped the final game of its four-game road trip, 14-11, against LaSalle on Friday afternoon.
The Explorers jumped out to a commanding 10-3 lead early in the second half. Pre-season All-American Jami Wilus sparked the offensive attack with four of her seven goals in the first 14 minutes. The Bobcats rallied with a 6-2 run that cut the lead to 12-9 with just under six minutes left in the second half. The two teams traded goals before Ohio got within two, 13-11, with less than a minute and a half to play. The LaSalle defense buckled down and Wilus tallied an insurance goal in the final minute to preserve the victory.
Melissa Menna (Downingtown, Pa.) continued her strong freshman campaign with a career-high four goals. Freshman Becky Oxman (Bryn Mawr, Pa.) tallied three goals in the defeat. Lindsey Hart (Vineland, Ont.) and Lynz Keys (Whitby, Ont.) each added two goals and an assist for the Bobcats.
