Lindsey Hart scored seven goals on Saturday, the 14th time the Bobcat senior has found the net at least five times in a game during her career.

    RICHMOND, Va. Senior Lindsey Hart scored a season-high seven goals Saturday afternoon but the Ohio lacrosse team dropped a close match at Richmond, 15-12.

    Lynz Keys added a pair of goals while Becky Oxman and Alyssa Trocher also found the net for the Bobcats (3-4).

    Richmond (4-4) started the scoring early, with the first tally coming less than two minutes into the game. Ohio responded in under a minute as Hart netted her first score of the afternoon. Richmond then used a 5-2 run over the next 20 minutes to open a 6-4 advantage.

    Each team added an additional tally before the end of the period and the halftime margin was set at 7-5.

    A free-position goal by the Spiders opened second-half action and the Bobcats scored on their next possession with a score from Hart. Richmond gained possession on the ensuing draw and drove the field to give the Spiders a 9-6 advantage.

    Ohio then scored four unanswered goals to take their first lead of the game at 10-9 with just over 15 minutes remaining but Richmond answered with four straight to build a 13-10 lead. The Bobcats cut the deficit to two (13-11) but never got any closer.

    Ohio travels to Pittsburgh to face Duquesne at 3 p.m. on Tuesday. Then the Bobcats will play an American Lacrosse Conference match at Davidson on April 4 before hosting California at 4 p.m. on Friday, April 11. Admission is free to all Ohio lacrosse home matches at Pruitt Field on Shafer Street.
