PITTSBURGH The Ohio lacrosse team took 24 seconds to score the game's first goal but Duquesne answered with a 9-2 run to pull away en route to a 13-8 victory Tuesday evening.

Lindsey Hart led the way with three goals while Lynz Keys added a pair of tallies. Becky Oxman, Alyssa Trocher and Emily Hemmelgarn each scored a goal.

It was Keys who started the scoring for the Bobcats (3-5) but the Dukes scored the next four goals for a 4-1 lead. Hemmelgarn finally broke the run with 7:26 left in the first half with a goal on a Melissa Menna assist, although a late score by the Dukes made the deficit three, 5-2, at intermission.

The second half started with the teams trading goals, Duquesne 2:24 into the period and then Ohio on Hart's first goal just 40 seconds later. The Dukes found the net three straight times to build the lead to 9-3 before the Bobcats began to rally. Oxman and Keys scored unassisted within 25 seconds of each other at 17:54 and 17:29 remaining, respectively. Then Hart scored on a pass from Oxman with 16:24 left to cut the deficit in half, 9-6.

Duquesne answered with back-to-back goals in a span of 22 seconds and then tallied a third 1:14 after that to push the lead back to six, 12-6, with just over nine minutes remaining.

Hart completed her hat trick at the 7:24 mark and Trocher converted with 1:31 left but the game was out of reach.

Ohio held statistical advantages in shots (31-25), ground balls (20-18) and draw controls (14-9). Jen Cassidy recorded nine saves.
