ATHENS, Ohio - The Bobcat lacrosse team will hold the first of its two skills clinics during the 2006 season on Wednesday, April 19 following its 3 p.m. game versus UMBC at Pruitt Field. The clinic is open to Ohio University students, faculty and staff,
The clinic is free of charge and all the necessary equipment will be provided. The team will teach the basic skills of lacrosse, including catching, cradling, throwing and shooting.
"Lacrosse is one of the fastest growing sports in the country," Ohio Head Coach Allison Valentino said. "We think this is a great opportunity for us to help the community become more aware of our sport. It's a chance for people who might not otherwise ever pick up a lacrosse stick to come out and try something new."
