NASHVILLE, Tenn. Becky Oxman (Bryn Mawr, Pa.) and Lynz Keys (Whitby, Ontario) scored three goals each but an early deficit was too much to overcome in a 12-11 American Lacrosse Conference loss to No. 10 Vanderbilt Friday night.

The Bobcats (5-6, 1-2 ALC) gave up the first two goals of the game and never took the lead. After cutting the deficit in half on a free position goal by Kristen Gombeski (Finksburg, Md.), the Bobcats surrendered another pair to trail 4-1. They trailed 7-3 at halftime and 12-6 with 21:19 to play in the contest.

From there, Ohio scored the last five goals of the game -- three by Keys and two by Oxman -- but could never get the equalizer. The final tallies came just 14 seconds apart with 1:49 and 1:35 to play.

Molly Wurdack (Hudson) led the defensive charge for the Bobcats, recording six ground balls and three caused turnovers. Jennifer Cassidy (Whitby, Ontario) made 15 saves.

The Bobcats return to action Friday when they host St. Bonaventure in a non-conference matchup at Pruitt Field.
