Lacrosse's Trocher Earns All-American Honors

6/19/2001

Athens, Ohio - Ohio attacker Alyssa Trocher (Ellicot City, Md.) has been named to the Women's Division I Honorable Mention All-America team announced by 360lacrosse.com. She is the first Bobcat to earn this distinction since the program was resurrected three seasons ago.

The sophomore led the Bobcats in scoring for the second consecutive season, tallying career highs with 52 goals and 23 assists for 75 points. Her numbers ranked her in the top 15 nationally, finishing fifth in points per game (4.69), eighth in goals per game (3.25) and t-15th in assists per game (1.44). She also had a season high eight goals against Gannon, third highest single-season total in the country this year.

Ohio finished their 2001 campaign with a university-best 8-8 record in the new era. The Bobcats achieved a team record six-game winning streak and a last-second victory in their season finale over highly touted Duquesne. -- ohiobobcats.com --
