Ohio Soccer Draws Even at Akron

HIGH SCHOOL: Manso played one season for Vernon Hills High School, earning all-conference, all-sectional and Rookie of the Year honors in the Cougar's 10-0 conference play. She is rated the No. 12 player in the Midwest Region by TopDrawerSoccer.com. She played for seven years with Chicago's Eclipse Select club team, ranked the No. 2 girls' soccer club in the country from 2009-2011 by Soccer America. She served as co-captain with fellow Buffalo Olivia Pappalardo for the last three years. Eclipse Select won the Elite Club National League national championship in 2011. In the U-16 competition in 2010, the team won the regional championship and became a national finalist. The team reached the finals in the U-15 and U-17 state cups and took the U-19 state title in 2012. Manso was named to the ECNL PDA All-Event team in May 2011. In June 2012, the Eclipse Select team went 2-2 in the national tournament, finishing in 11th place. She was also an Illinois State Scholar.

PERSONAL: Her full name is Carly Marie Manso. She was born on September 13, 1993 to Ron and Laurie Manso. She has an older brother, Ryan, and a younger brother, Bo. Her cousin Anthony Castonzo is a left tackle for the Indianapolis Colts. Manso has been playing soccer since she was four years old. When off the pitch, she loves working with kids, baking, cleaning and playing volleyball. She rescued a black lab to add to her family in Illinois ... Majoring in Sociology.
