Gina Siedentopf

Player Profile

Position:
Graduate Assistant

A familiar face in the Ohio soccer family, Gina Siedentopf returns to Athens as a graduate assistant coach in 2008. A former Bobcat player from 2001-04, Siedentopf brings an in-depth knowledge of the program and of coach Stacy Struss' philosophy. Known for her technical skill as a player, she will assist with operational duties within the program, in addition to coaching the midfielders and assisting with overall technique.

During her playing days, Siedentopf garnered her share of recognition while playing on two of Ohio's three MAC-title teams. She finished her career with seven goals and 13 assists while playing in 79 games, good for sixth on the school's career games played list.

As a team captain in 2004, Siedentopf proved to be an instrumental part of Ohio's conference championship. She played in every game while helping lead the Bobcats to their conference title and a 7-2-3 mark in conference play.

In 2003, Siedentopf was named the team's Most Valuable Player after finishing the season with 14 points on four goals and six assists while starting every game. She was also named to the MAC All-Tournament Team and was a MAC honor-roll selection.

Named Ohio's Most Improved Player in 2002, Siedentopf helped the team to 15 wins, the second-highest mark in program history, and a 15-5-2 record overall. Her strong play at the stopper position also proved instrumental in helping the Bobcats reach the MAC Tournament Championship.

A native of Cincinnati, Siedentopf was recently a regional manager for a clothing chain in the Cincinnati area. She is now living in Athens.
