Ohio Soccer vs. Western Michigan Canceled Due to Weather

Ohio's Tonya Frasik

Oct. 14, 2012

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Not only did Ohio Soccer and Western Michigan battle one another on Sunday, but they also battled the weather. With the Bobcats holding a 1-0 lead in the second half, the game was delayed for lightning and eventually canceled when the field was deemed unplayable.

The match was called in the 67th minute of play. Had it proceeded for three more minutes and been called after 70 minutes had elapsed, Ohio would have been declared the winner.

Following a scoreless first half, Ohio took to the offensive right away at the outset of the second. Tonya Frasik scored what would have been the first goal of her career as a Bobcat right at the start of the second half, finding the back of the net to give the Green and White a 1-0 lead.

Sunday’s game will not be rescheduled.

Ohio will next be in action on Friday, Oct. 19 vs. Toledo. The Bobcats and Rockets will kick off in Athens at 3 p.m.

Ohio Starting XI (Numerically): Liston, Murnane, Rogers, Howard, Feeney, Finley, Schwenke, Bechtel, Harris, Hausfeld, Campbell
