Ohio Soccer Makes Eight Additions to Program

Ohio Soccer Head Coach Aaron Rodgers

Feb. 12, 2013

ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio University Soccer Team added eight new student-athletes to its ranks in the most recent signing period. The Bobcats will be welcoming two defenders, three midfielders, and three new forwards to the program for the 2013-14 academic year.

Five of these new student-athletes will come from the state of Ohio, while Indiana (1), Maryland (1), and Michigan (1) are also represented in the class.

"It is exciting because this is a new era of Ohio Soccer," said new Head Coach Aaron Rodgers. "I think that each one of these young ladies is committed to Ohio Soccer, be it through me as the head coach or the former staff, which did a bulk of the recruiting with them. With the transition, they all committed to stay with Ohio, which means a lot to the program because they want to be a part of Ohio University."

"This attitude is something which I've really tried to instill in the current players on the team: we want to be over-the-top proud of being an Ohio Soccer player," Rodgers added. "It's more than being just a Mid-American Conference soccer player and a college soccer player, but about being an Ohio University Bobcat soccer player. The young ladies that committed with us are truly going to be Ohio Soccer players. We're excited about that because that's going to be a huge part of the culture that I want to instill in our program moving forward."
