The 1998 Ohio MAC championship team was one of the best soccer teams to ever don the green and white. They finished the season with a 16-6 overall record, including a 9-1 mark in conference play to capture the first of the `Cats' three MAC crowns, which currently ties for the most women's soccer championships by any league school. Five players from the 1998 squad garnered numerous postseason awards that year, including Mindy Boggs, Vanessa Dennis, Marie LaGuardia, Nicki Pendleton and Lori Spitler. Boggs was also honored as the Ohio Soccer Coaches Association's player of the year. Then-coach Wendy Logan earned both MAC Coach of the Year and OHSCA Coach of the Year award, as well. Ohio will wrap up its spring season with the alumni game May 16, before beginning fall training later this summer. The Green and White will open up the 2009 campaign Aug. 21, at Purdue. |
