Ohio University soccer senior defender Gabby Hausfeld
and sophomore forward Alexis Milesky
were named to the 2014 College Sports Madness Mid-American Conference Preseason All-League Teams, it was announced today.
Hausfeld, a first team selection, played in all 20 games for the Bobcats in 2013. For the 2014 season, she will take on an increased leadership role as team captain.
Milesky a second team selection, made an immediate impact in her rookie campaign with the Bobcats, starting all 20 matches and tying for the team lead in points (11) and goals (four) while tying for third on the team in assists (three). Her 32 shots ranked second on the squad, with 13 of them coming on goal. Her season also led her to be named to the MAC All-Freshmen Team.
Ohio finished the 2013 regular season with its first non-losing record since 2009 (7-7-5) and posted five road victories - the most wins away from home for the program since 2004. The Bobcats tallied 26 goals in 2013 - the program's most in a decade.
The Bobcats will host UNC Greensboro on Aug. 14 in a home exhibition match. Kickoff is set for noon at Chessa Field.
