CLEVELAND, Ohio – Ohio Soccer’s Cathryn Rogers has been named the Mid-American Conference’s Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
Rogers (Etobicoke, Ontario) had another incredible week for Ohio Soccer, scoring one game-winning goal and providing the assist on Holly Harris’ game-winner. The senior scored her fourth goal in just three matches (fifth of the season) on Friday against Niagara in the 59th minute, pacing Ohio to a 1-0 victory. This was her third game-winning goal of the 2012 season. Facing a 1-1 score on Sunday against Cleveland State, Rogers bent in a terrific corner kick which led to teammate Holly Harris’ second goal of the match, one which would eventually be the game-winner.
With two wins in the books from this past weekend, Ohio Soccer (4-3) is currently on a four-match winning streak, its longest such spell in eight seasons.
The Bobcats will next be in action on Friday, Sept. 14 when Youngstown State comes to town. Ohio and the Penguins will kick off from Chessa Field at 4 p.m.
