ATHENS, Ohio - Learn about what life is like on the road with the Ohio University women's soccer team by following their weekly blog posts during away matches.
This week, the Bobcat travel blog continues courtesy of junior Erin Feeney. She recaps the September trip to Niagara, and the team's 2-1 win over the Purple Eagles.
Our trip to Niagara was definitely a long one but nevertheless it was a joyful ride. Other than having the pleasure of having the back three seats all to myself! We played a lot of different games. I personally really enjoy our bus trips. Rachel Fryan and Mattie Liston thought it would be a good idea to make a fort, and then we contunued our typical games which involve everyone speaking in a British or Italian accents.
Then Rachel, Maggie Murnane, Gabby Hausfeld and I, made up our own singing game. We had to wear beats headphones with the music up really loud and sing as loud as you can one at a time in the back of the bus. Now, I don't know if any one of you have tried singing with these things on.. but you do not hear a thing. I thought I was singing softly but really I was belting it out so that the entire bus could hear me. My opponents - well they did alright. I mean what can I say? I have a great voice. WINNING!
Not only was the bus ride entertaining as always, we also had a chance to go to Niagara Falls and that was really fun. We took some great pictures and luckily no one fell in so that's always a plus!
Then it was game on. Although we were down almost the entirety of the game, it was definitely the most thrilling game so far this season. Coming back with 5 minutes left, and then 5 seconds left! How many teams can say that? I am very proud of my team without a doubt.
It was a great weekend to say the least.
Also, my parents were able to come to the game because it was closer for them. That made my weekend 10 times better for sure!
