ATHENS, Ohio - Ohio takes to the road this weekend for its first MAC away games of the 2007 season. The Bobcats will put their 3-1 MAC record and third place conference standing on the line when they face Central Michigan (5-6-0, 1-3 MAC) and Eastern Michigan (4-5-2, 2-2 MAC).

The Bobcats (3-6-2 overall) start with Central Michigan at 4 p.m. on Friday. The Chippewas are looking to bounce back from their loss to Toledo this weekend and climb into the MAC regular season championship race. Ohio must deal with the sensational sophomore duo of Stephanie Martin and Amanda Waugh. The pair has combined for ten of Central Michigan's 19 goals, as well as eight assists. Martin's 52 shot attempts is the most in the conference.

Sunday finds the Bobcats in Ypsilanti, Mich., for a 1 p.m. showdown with Eastern Michigan. The Eagles defeated Bowling Green 2-0 in their last game and find themselves in the middle of the MAC pack at fifth place. Their only MAC losses have come against the league's undefeated teams, Toledo and Ball State. Maggie Christensen leads the Eagles with five goals, and freshman Stephanie Janssens kick starts the offense with her five assists.

Ohio hopes to build on a strong showing from this past weekend when it defeated the Miami Redhawks 3-1 on Sunday and hung tough against the MAC's first place team, Ball State, before falling 1-0 on Friday. The three goals against Miami were a season high for the Bobcats. Erika Schmitt (Wyoming), Lindsey Price (West Chester) and Amy Lower (West Chester) all found the back of the net against the Redhawks. The goal was Schmitt's fourth of the year which leads the team, while Price added her second score and Lower scored for the first time. It also marked the fifth straight game that keeper Jess MacLean (Loveland) has allowed just one goal.

History will be against the Bobcats for their matchup with Central Michigan. The Chippewas hold an all-time series lead of 7-3-1 and have defeated Ohio four of the last seven times they have made the trip to Mount Pleasant, Mich. Eastern Michigan is a different story. The Bobcats hold an all-time series record of 7-5-1 against the Eagles, but struggle in Ypsilanti, Mich., where they are only 2-4-1. Last year the state was no problem for Ohio as they swept the teams, both by a score of 2-1.
